W Hotels has officially entered the Saudi Arabian market with the opening of W Riyadh KAFD.
Now open and taking bookings, this new, 210-room property is situated within the ultra-modern King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). Part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, W Riyadh KAFD represents a significant milestone in the brand’s Middle Eastern expansion, positioning itself as a central hub in the capital’s most future-forward and burgeoning commercial neighbourhood.
Designed by the renowned LW Design; the people behind Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp, The Dubai EDITION and Raffles Hotel in Shenzhen, China. The hotel’s interiors serve as a sophisticated dialogue between the W brand’s bold aesthetic and Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage. The W brand is known for its quirky, unique and sometimes bamboozling take on interior design, this new location of the hotel takes direct inspiration from Najdi textiles and Al Sadu weaving patterns, utilising geometric textures and materials like veined marble to mirror the surrounding desert landscape.
The artistic heartbeat of the property is highlighted by the work of acclaimed Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a massive six-metre tapestry in the lobby, while guest rooms feature bilingual typography wall art that bridges traditional script with modern expression.
The hotel comprises 210 rooms, including 17 suites and two expansive penthouse suites. The crown jewel of the property is the W Penthouse, a 390-square-metre sanctuary that offers a comprehensive lifestyle experience. This flagship suite features two bedrooms alongside formal living and dining areas, a private office, and a dedicated personal gym. For ultimate relaxation, the space is equipped with en-suite steam and sauna facilities, with the entire interior accented by design details inspired by traditional prayer beads and regional craftsmanship.
W Riyadh KAFD will introduce a diverse range of dining concepts designed to cater to Riyadh’s cosmopolitan audience. Sira serves as a high-energy focal point specialising in Latin American cuisine and open-fire cooking, while Beni, a laidback cafe, will offer a curated social atmosphere focused on craft coffee and artisanal ice cream. The signature W Lounge provides a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Bedouin gathering spaces, characterised by circular banquettes and sunken seating. Additionally, the iconic W WET Deck is set to become an open-air poolside sanctuary in the middle of the city centre, serving Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The seasonal debut of WET Deck at W Riyadh KAFD is scheduled for April 25, 2026.
